The VISTA - a group of economies, which stands for Viet Nam, Indonesia, South Africa, Turkey and Argentina, is considered one of the world’s premier grouping of emerging economies with huge development potential.
At a recent interview with the Chinese press, a scholar at the BRIC Economics Research Institute of Japan said that VISTA economies would likely enlarge by up to 28 times by 2050, while BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) would expand by 20 times and the Group of seven industrialised countries (G7) by 2.5 times.
According to the research institute, VISTA members are being fuelled by at least one of the following characteristics: rich natural resources; a young labour force; attractive investment incentives; political stability and increasing domestic consumption.
